About
Emily is an Occupational Therapist with a background from the Dominican University of California who recently moved to the Ottawa area. Her belief in the power of collaborative, strengths-based therapy drives her to impact children and their support networks significantly. Emily's mission is to nurture independence, resilience and provide a secure space for exploration and growth for all her young clients.
Her diverse experience encompasses working with children and adults with psychosocial, developmental, neurological, and sensory-processing challenges. Emily's expertise extends across hospitals, clinics, schools, and community settings. As she continues her practice, she aspires to be both a direct practitioner and an occupational researcher.
During her graduate education, Emily had the privilege of working on her thesis under the mentorship of Dr. Julia Wilbarger, co-creator of the renowned Wilbarger Brushing Protocol. This exposure has enriched her knowledge and skills in the field.
Recognizing the uniqueness of each child and family, Emily is dedicated to creating personalized care plans that incorporate fun and innovative approaches to cater to their individual needs.
